Shake off those winter blues and join us as we kick off our 2023 events programme! Our first event of the year sees us heading to Blackwood Town Centre for its first ever Spring Fair!

A petting farm, funfair rides, children’s workshops, street theatre, birds of prey… These are just some of the things you’ll find at the Blackwood Spring Fair on Saturday 4th March! With a whole host of food and craft stalls, there’s something for everyone! So come along for a fun-filled family day out and a chance to support local businesses!

The event will be located on High Street, NP12 1AH, where there will be a road closure in place.

Important Notice for Residents and Retailers – Event Information & Road Closures

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS & RETAILERS Blackwood Spring Fair - Saturday 4th March 2023 Event Information and Road Closures Location: High Street, Blackwood Opening Times: 9am - 5pm Road Closures and Traffic Systems: A closure of High Street from its junction with Bridge Street and Pentwyn Road from 9pm on 03.03.23 until 9pm on 04.03.23. Bridge Street and Pentwyn Road will remain open. Retailer Access: Retailers that do not have rear lane access off the road closure area on Blackwood High Street should arrange deliveries required during the event weekend to be made prior to 9pm on 03.03.23 or between 1am and 6am on 04.03.23. Any retailers with private parking that require site access will be permitted access up until 8:30am and after 9pm on 04.03.23. If you require access, please contact events@caerphilly.gov.uk or 07876 358074 so that a list of retailers can be compiled for the road closure steward. Resident Access: There will be a prohibition of waiting and loading on various areas of Gordon Road, Albany Road, Attlee Road and Bloomfield Road to assist with the alternative bus routes for the event. No waiting cones will be placed in these areas and no parking is permitted from 9pm on 03.03.23 until 9pm on 04.03.23. Wesley Road residents will be issued with passes to gain access to their property via Cefn Road from 9pm on 03.03.23 until 9pm on 04.03.23. This is the only access route to your property during the road closure period and passes must be visible on entry. The barrier will be unlocked for the duration of the road closure and manned by a steward during the event opening hours. Security will partially monitor the barrier overnight. If unmanned when you access/egress the site, please ensure the barrier is kept closed afterwards. If you require additional passes, please contact events@caerphilly.gov.uk or 07876 358074. Please note that Wesley Car Park will remain a Pay-and-Display car park even though access to the car park is limited; if you do park here, please ensure you adhere to the fees indicated on the pay and display notices. Taxis: No taxis are permitted on-site during the road closure. Please arrange alternative collection and drop-off sites. Bus Stops / Route: No bus stops are affected by the road closure. Alternative routes around Gordon Road, Albany Road, Attlee Road, Bloomfield Road, Pentwyn Road and Pentwyn Avenue will operate. No waiting cones will be placed along these areas to assist with the alternative bus route and parking will be restricted in these areas. Thank you for your time and co-operation during this event.
