With the Christmas season quickly approaching, why not enjoy some FREE family fun time and bring the children along to make an extra special festive lantern ready for the River of Light Lantern Parade that takes place in Caerphilly town centre on Friday 21st November 2025.

The FREE workshops are organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and funded by Caerphilly Town Council. The workshops are an enjoyable experience for the young and old! Children can release their creative abilities and adults get the chance to have fun and get stuck in too!

Whether it’s a family lantern or something a bit more adventurous, there will be plenty of craft paper and glue for everyone to create some masterpieces!

The free lantern workshops will take place from 10am until 5pm in Twyn Community Centre on Saturday 8th November, Sunday 9th November, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November, ready for the parade on Friday 21st November 2025 at 6pm during the Mini Festive Fair.

• Prize must be collected from Crafty Legs during the Mini Festive Fair on Friday 21st November or the Caerphilly Christmas Market on Saturday 29th November. No cash or other alternative available.
• Entries must be submitted to the River of Light Lantern-Making Workshops Facebook event Discussion tab to be counted. Tagged posts do not count as these are not always visible due to individual privacy settings.
• Entries are free and limited to 1 per person.
• Entries close at midnight on Tuesday 18th November 2025. Winner will be selected at random, announced and contacted via Facebook comment/message by Thursday 20th November.
• Please beware of scammers. We will never ask you to provide bank details or other financial information.
• Winner may be asked to participate in publicity relating to the competition, including photographs and/or announcement of winners on social media.
