{"id":16772,"date":"2026-05-22T10:11:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T09:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitcaerphilly.com\/?p=16772"},"modified":"2026-05-22T10:11:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T09:11:25","slug":"another-successful-bargoed-may-fair-brings-thousands-to-town-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitcaerphilly.com\/en\/another-successful-bargoed-may-fair-brings-thousands-to-town-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Another successful Bargoed May Fair brings thousands to town centre"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<section id=\"\" class=\"block text-block\">\n\t\t<div class=\"wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>The Bargoed May Fair returned on Saturday 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0May and over 3,300 people visited the town centre.<\/p>\n<p>Many families and friends of all ages enjoyed the event and everything it had to offer; there was a great selection of stalls selling food and drink, quirky movie vehicles, and lots of children\u2019s activities including an array of funfair rides. An abundance of free activities also filled the high street with giant inflatable and traditional games, donkey rides, craft workshops and tv and film mascot lookalikes, all entertaining the crowds.<\/p>\n<p>The fair drove footfall and new visitors to the town centre, a key goal of these events. It was the fifth event in the 2026 events programme, and an enjoyable day for everyone involved.<\/p>\n<p>Bargoed will next be host to the Bargoed Summer Music Festival on Saturday 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0July 2026 \u2013 another key date to help support local businesses. These events are raising the profile of our towns and introducing visitors to the selection of local businesses that are available, hopefully creating repeat visits.<\/p>\n<p>The next county borough event in the diary is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcaerphilly.com\/en\/events\/risca-beach-feastival\/\"><strong>Risca Beach FEASTival<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0&amp; Sunday 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2026. Check out Visit Caerphilly via the website and socials and for full details.<\/p>\n<p>So far this year the five events held (The Big Welsh Festival, Bargoed Spring Fair, Ystrad Mynach Food, Drink &amp; Music Festival, Caerphilly Food &amp; Drink Festival and Bargoed May Fair) have brought in nearly 22,000 visitors to our town centres.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to Bargoed Town Council for financially supporting the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hear what the town\u2019s local businesses thought of the event:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reverie, Creators Market \u2013 \u201cSaturday was amazing for us, and although the good weather helped, there was a constant stream of customers in and out of our shop all day. At times you couldn\u2019t move in the shop because of the number of people in there. It was a record day for sales, so events and fairs like these definitely help to bring people into the town and customers into the shops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bowen &amp; La Bamba Barbershop \/ Awaydayz Clothing \u2013 \u201cIt was the best business day we\u2019ve ever had when an event has been held in town, we can\u2019t wait to get involved with the next one!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Square Royale Pub \u2013 \u201cIt was a very, very busy day and our table bookings were practically full. It was nice having stalls outside the pub, and it was great to see so many people in town. Events like this really help support local businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barnardo\u2019s Charity Shop \u2013 \u201cWe were very busy both instore and with our outside tabletop sale, and it was nice to see so many people in town. Events like this help to bring the community spirit back to Bargoed which should be everyone\u2019s aim!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Flair &amp; Foxy \u2013 \u201cIt was our first time trading in Bargoed. It was a great
