Join us for a day packed with fun and laughter with something for everyone
Carnival parade starts from Old Bargoed Inn (Top of Bailey Street) at 12 midday. It will be led by Cefn Hengoed Jazz Band followed by Deri and Groesfaen Carnival Queen and her attendants. Everyone welcome to join the parade and if you dress up you could win the Best Dressed team or Best Dressed Individual Annual Trophy. Our Own Samba Band will cover the rear.
The carnival will be opened by Gerald Jones MP at 1pm and attractions will run until 6pm, when there will be two hours of live music featuring The Breakfast Club (19680s covers), Country Vocalist, The Bailey’s Band and Carys Lloyd.
Amongst the attractions will be traditional game stalls, Hook a Duck, Win a Goldfish, Hoopla, Hit the Jackpot. Bouncy Castle, Bouncy Slide, Sweest and Slush Stalls together with Snow Cones.
A Duck Race with cash prizes, Bingo tent playing for cash prizes, balloon sellers, face painting and glitter tattooing, a children’s train ride and Bird of Prey Displays by UK Falconry with free Bird Handling.
We have stalls selling crafts, Welsh Cakes, Fancies and Savouries, specialised cakes, specialised fudge, children and women’s clothes, Coach Holiday Booking Team, Utility Warehouse, Velindra fundraising team, Help for Wales, Bobath, Woodland Trust and World Wildlife Fund.
For your refreshments, we have authentic hot Greek food prepared on site, traditional Burgers & Hot Dogs, chips, and a selection of cold foods..
For your pleasure we have Barista Coffee, Tea, freshly made doughnuts, popcorn. Whippy Ice Cream and for those who like something a little stronger, Tudor Brewery have a Bar and a Craft Beer Stall, Vale Cider, will be selling bottled Craft Cider and Apple Juice and Wonky Donkey will be there with their Gin and Prosecco bar.
If that isn’t enough, we have Annalea who will read your future, and in case of rain or sun,, a large hospitality marquee with tables and chairs to rest weary feet.
