The centenary of the end of World War I is commemorated in words, music and images at Blackwood Miners’ Institute.

Readings, poems, quotes and enactments from diaries, letters and documents will be performed by popular Welsh television and stage personalities David Lloyd-Jones, Adrian Metcalfe and Nia Trussler Jones. Musicians from the Chamber Orchestra Of Wales play music specially composed for the production.

Recounting stories from towns and villages throughout Wales, The Armistice Suite delves into the lives of those who contributed on the home front as well as those who served in the military; the significant contributions of Welsh women are not forgotten.

The Armistice Suite is written, edited, collated and produced by Gruffydd Harries – a musician, writer and producer. Original music has been composed by BAFTA-winning, EMMY-nominated Welsh musician Mark Thomas who is responsible for the television themes for Episodes (BBC/Showtime), Shaun The Sheep (BBC), Brief Encounters (ITV) as well as scoring the films Twin Town and Dog Soldiers amongst others.

Mae canmlwyddiant diwedd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf yn cael ei goffáu mewn geiriau, cerddoriaeth a delweddau yn Sefydliad y Glowyr Coed Duon.

Bydd darlleniadau, cerddi, dyfyniadau a pherfformiadau o ddyddiaduron, llythyron a dogfennau yn cael eu perfformio gan bersonoliaethau teledu a llwyfan poblogaidd Cymreig David Lloyd-Jones, Adrian Metcalfe a Nia Trussler Jones. Bydd cerddorion o Gerddorfa Siambr Cymru yn chwarae cerddoriaeth a gyfansoddwyd yn arbennig ar gyfer y cynhyrchiad hwn.

Wrth adrodd hanesion o drefi a phentrefi ledled Cymru, mae ‘The Armistice Suite’ yn tyrchu i mewn i fywydau’r rhai a gyfrannodd ar y ffrynt cartref yn ogystal â’r rhai a wasanaethodd yn y lluoedd arfog; ni chaiff gyfraniadau arwyddocaol menywod o Gymru eu hanghofio.
