Join Risca Museum for their Open Day in conjunction with the Western Valleys Model Railway Club!
- Outside, there will be ‘old-fashioned’ games for you to try your hand at. Experience ‘going underground’ but be prepared to get your hands and knees dirty!
- Inside, talk to local experts about what life was like in the South Wales Valleys during the last 250 years.
- Try your hand at firefighting, World War Two style!
- Outside, you can get closer to some of the artefacts our grandparents used to ‘shape’ the way we live today in South Wales, with saws, drills and planes.
- Pick up a quiz sheet (adult quiz and children’s quiz) and you’ll find there’s a weet little prize at the end!
- Upstairs, find the railway modellers showing local and distant layouts including Pontypool Road, Newport & District
- Downstairs, look out for the printers, who will explain how printing was done way, way before we hit the ‘print’ button on our electronic devices!
- Saturday 23rd May
- 10am – 4pm
