Adrian Turner, owner of Escape Blackwood, an exciting Escape Room attraction on the outskirts of Blackwood, has been extremely busy during lockdown indulging in a world of fantasy and fiction!
Adrian, the games master for Escape Blackwood, would typically be creating new and exciting themed Escape Rooms to keep children, adults, families and party groups entertained; however during the numerous lockdowns that so many businesses have endured during Covid-19, Escape Blackwood have remained closed, with the creative mind behind the business focussing on new ventures.
Specialising in standalone teen horror/sci-fi fiction books, Adrian released his first book ‘Shudders’, which reached the number one best seller spot in its category on Amazon recently, showing its huge popularity. Readers were gripped by the captivating story and it has recently caught the attention of American novelist and author R.L. Stine, author of the famous teen horror series ‘Goosebumps’. Commenting on a recent Facebook post, R.L Stine wished Adrian a personal good luck with his books.
Adrian said, “Being unable to open Escape Blackwood has led me to focus my mindset elsewhere and think outside the box! My flare to write these novels came from nowhere and now there seems to be no stopping me.”
Adrian is now on his third book with many more in the pipeline. Lockdown may have put a stop to ‘business as usual’, but one thing Adrian cannot escape is his creative flare which has reached new levels and opened new doors these past few months.
Adrian said “Writing these books has brought a great deal of positive energy during such desperate times. Not only has it kept my creativity flowing but it will hopefully form a long-standing series of books and remain my lockdown legacy”.
