Caerphilly County Borough Council was proud once again to host Pride Caerffili which returned to Caerphilly Town Centre on Saturday 5th July for it’s third successful year.
Despite the wet weather, the community turned out in full force to support the event with 10,378 visitors entering the Twyn Car Park event site and 19,127 visitors exploring Castle Court Shopping Centre, Ffos Caerffili and the wider Town Centre.
The day began with an official opening by Olympic and world champion boxer Lauren Price MBE, who hails from Ystrad Mynach and remains an inspirational figure locally and beyond.
The event featured a colourful Pride Parade that welcomed people from all communities, including businesses and charities, followed by a vibrant programme of live entertainment with Miss Tina Sparkle acting as compère.
Pride Caerffili has now become a well-established and much-anticipated event in the council’s events calendar. Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Deputy Leader of the Council, praised this year’s event, he said: “It was fantastic to welcome Lauren Price to open Pride Caerffili 2025. The energy throughout the day was incredible, and it was great to see so many residents and visitors coming together to support our LGBTQ+ community.”
We would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and partner organisations for their ongoing support for the event.
