To celebrate the festive season, children aged 4-11 years were invited to design a colourful festive scene that featured Caerphilly town centre in some way, with the winner of the competition getting their artwork displayed as a mural at Y Banc at The Twyn.
Rosie, aged 10, from Cwrt Rawlin Primary School has been announced as this year’s winner.
Judging the art was Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration and Climate Change, Rhiannon Taylor, CCBC Town Centre Support Officer, Marcus Edwards, Caerphilly Library Assistant, and Louise Whan, Window Artist from The Crafty Couple.
Rosie’s colourful creation captured the eyes of the judges who were impressed with her illustration of Caerphilly Castle.
Her drawing has now been turned into a Christmas window mural at Y Banc at The Twyn (former Barclays Bank building) in Caerphilly town centre by artist Louise Whan.
It was a difficult decision for the judges who were delighted by the quality of artwork handed in and they want to thank everyone who took part.
