The festive season is here, and Caerphilly County Borough Council’s events team are excited to share details of the town centre events taking place throughout November and December 2026.
This year sees the return of the regular Christmas Markets in Bargoed (14 November), Caerphilly (21 November), Blackwood (28 November) and Ystrad Mynach (5 December), featuring a fantastic range of food, drink, craft & information stalls as well as plenty of great entertainment and activities for families to enjoy.
Caerphilly Mini Festive Fair will also be making a return to Caerphilly town centre on Friday 20 November, featuring the River of Light Lantern Parade at 5:30pm and Christmas Lights Switch-On and Fireworks Display from 6pm. The standalone Caerphilly Christmas Market will take place the next day, Saturday 21 November. Bargoed, Blackwood and Ystrad Mynach Christmas Markets will also each feature their own lantern parades at 4:15pm and Christmas Lights Switch-Ons 4:45pm.
Families can get involved in this year’s Lantern Parades by creating their own lanterns at the free lantern making workshops in Bargoed, Caerphilly, Risca, Blackwood and Ystrad Mynach, where craft supplies will be provided to come up with your own imaginative creations!
Caerphilly County Borough Council’s winter events are free to attend. These events are organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and financially supported by Bargoed, Blackwood and Caerphilly Town Councils and Gelligaer Community Council.
