Celynen Collieries Institute & Memorial hall are Grade II and Grade II* listed buildings in the heart of Newbridge, South Wales. The Institute building which opened in 1908 is a lasting monument to the miners who worked so hard to build it and the Memorial Hall built in 1924 serves as a memorial to the local servicemen who lost their lives during WWI.

Now operating as a Community and Events Venue in the heart of The Valleys!

Newbridge Memo hosts a fantastic array of events throughout the year. From live performances of music and comedy to various classes and clubs, the Memo is accommodating to all tastes and ages.

Newbridge Memo has also been used as a filming location for several high-profile TV and Film productions, featuring in the likes of BBC’s Doctor Who and Sherlock, as well as Netflix’s Sex Education to name a few.
