About Bargoed
Bargoed town centre is part of the Heads of the Valley Regeneration Area and serves as the principal town for the north of the County Borough.
This former mining town has a strong community spirit, and hosts national retailers and supermarkets, together with a range of smaller independent businesses, including a mix of cafes, hairdressers, gift shops, clothing and antique stores, a local post office, and a range of pubs/restaurants and food outlets. The town has seen the conversion of the Grade II listed Hanbury Road Baptist Chapel into a library, local history resource unit, Customer First facility and worship space. A new retail plateau in the centre of town also links the existing high street with the Lowry Plaza retail scheme.
