Wrap up warm and get ready for the festive season to kick off as the Ystrad Mynach Christmas Market comes to town on Saturday 15th November 2025!

This year’s Ystrad Mynach Christmas Market is set to bring a Christmas sparkle throughout the town centre on Saturday 15th November and Gelligaer Community Council are hosting a Santa’s Grotto so don’t forget your Christmas list!

The Ystrad Mynach Christmas Market will give you an opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early with a fantastic selection of over 35 food and craft stalls, which will run through the length of the town selling beautiful gifts from Christmas decorations and jewellery to tasty bakes and traditional festive treats.

A few small children’s funfair rides will be dotted around the town, with a feast of festive characters roaming the event site to keep the whole family entertained. A community stage with festive performances from local schools, choirs, bands and singers will also help to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

As well as the stalls and entertainment, there’s a great range of independent town centre shops that the town has to offer. Grab your shopping bags and come along to join in the festive fun from 9am until 5pm!

The fair is also host to the magical Gelligaer Community Council Christmas Light Switch on at 5pm.

Parking and Travel

Parking

Public parking, including disabled bays, will be available at:

• The Lewis School, CF82 7WW (free)
• Oakfield Street Car Park, CF82 7WX (pay-and-display)
• Tesco, CF82 7DP (free for 2 hours, limited to Tesco customers only)
• Lidl, CF82 8AA (free for 2 hours, limited to Lidl customers only)

Please ensure you check signage at each car park for full terms and conditions.

Train Services

Ystrad Mynach Train Station is a short walk from the event site and services passengers travelling to and from the following locations:

• Bargoed (approx. every 10-20 mins)
• Barry Island (approx. every 10-30 mins)
• Cardiff (approx. every 10-20 mins)
• Rhymney (approx. every 30-40 mins)

Stall List

Over 35 traders selling delicious food and unique crafts, as well as a few information stands, will be located throughout the town centre. Enjoy delicious cakes and sample a tipple or two from the spirits, beer and cider sellers! Pick up some unique craft gifts for family and friends or why not treat yourself!
