Set within 21 acres of beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Caerphilly (Gypsy Lane, Groeswen, CF15 7UN), The Meadows Wildlife Park is a family-run, not-for-profit attraction offering interactive, educational and unforgettable animal experiences for all ages.
Meet more than 300 incredible animals, from exotic wildlife to much-loved farmyard favourites:
Exotic stars – capybaras, ring-tailed lemurs, cotton-top tamarins, meerkats, wallabies, armadillos, prairie dogs, lorikeets, reindeer, skunks, porcupines and emus
Farmyard favourites – goats, pigs, sheep, alpacas, llamas, donkeys, ducks, chickens, ponies and more
Reptiles and more – snakes, iguanas, bearded dragons, other lizards, tortoises and fascinating invertebrates
The Meadows is much more than somewhere to simply look at animals. Get hands-on with mini animal experiences, which may include rabbit and guinea pig petting, lorikeet feeding and goat brushing. Activities vary depending on the season and the animals’ needs, as animal welfare will always come first.
For an extra-special visit, The Meadows also offers incredible close-up encounters with favourites including capybaras and meerkats. Throughout the year, families can enjoy a variety of seasonal events and school-holiday entertainment, from foamy summer fun and Easter activities to spooky Halloween trails and magical Christmas celebrations. With different activities taking place across the seasons, there is always another reason to return.
After exploring the park, stop at Willows Coffee Shop for freshly prepared food, drinks and treats in a relaxed countryside setting. The Meadows’ versatile event spaces are also available for birthday parties, school visits, workshops, celebrations and private functions.
Educational visits are an important part of The Meadows’ work, with programmes designed to support learning through nature, wildlife and direct animal interaction. As a not-for-profit wildlife park, every visit helps The Meadows continue caring for their animals and supporting schools, volunteers, charities and community organisations.
